The whole of science is nothing more than a refinement of everyday thinking' Albert Einstein is unquestionably one of the greatest scientists in history. He discovered the theory of relativity, and fine-tuned Newton's laws, expanding man's understanding of the universe. He also set the stage for the exploitation of atomic energy. This fascinating biography traces his life from childhood - where his genius was not readily perceived - to his turbulent times at institutions of higher learning where his independence and Jewish origin often threatened to thwart his career, as well as the indomitable spirit that, in a span of ten years, made him one of the world's most famous scientists. It explores Einstein's role as a champion of peace and humanism, as well as his private and personal life. Albert Einstein is a fascinating insight into the life and character of one of the twentieth century's greatest figures. About the Author R.K.
