Set in India and the UK, An Autumn Melody is a saga about the rich, powerful and decadent page three society who are convinced that they can get away with anything, including murder. It follows the story of Darshana, whose life seems to be a series of obstacles, not helped in the least by the three men who are most important to her: Kirat, her alcoholic husband; Robi, a prize-winning photographer; and Rizwan, her first love, who waits and watches over her, always from a distance.
A hard hitting and thought provoking novel about the life of a woman, An Autumn Melody is also a searing depiction of the suffering of the Sikhs in 1984 India, and the violence and murder that took over the country.
