The learners are naturally inclined to observe their natural and social environments. They participate in several interactions—social, with nature, living and non-living things, and relationships within families and communities. They experience emotions related to these experiences. Further, personal and cultural identities are often tied to the local environment. Thus, there is an essential need, especially for the learners, to understand their environment. Understanding The World Around Us is a series of two books for grades 1 and 2. These books fully comply with the aims of the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE). This series follows the five-step learning process called Panchpadi as laid out in the NCF-FS 2022 and NCFSE 2023.
