While there are a number of books about aviation maintenance, Aviation Maintenance Management, Second Edition is the only book targeted towards the management side of the industry. The book is focused on establishing a maintenance program, not the technical knowledge required for performing maintenance. With this book, aspiring managers will learn to maintain aircraft to a higher standard (effectively saving money), apply systems concepts for improved integration and communication, and improve efficiency in meeting regulatory requirements. In this extensive revision, new author Terry Siddiqui brings this important information up to date, with new sections on the maintenance review board, personnel certification, regulatory oversight, and reliability. He has updated the computer support section to include new systems designed to monitor trend analysis and on-demand maintenance inquiries and upgrades. Finally, Siddiqui updates the "Documentation for Maintenance" chapter to include new manuals, upon which modern aircraft rely heavily. About the Author Harry A. Kinnison, Ph.D., worked for the Boeing Company for 20 years, 10 as a specialist in the Maintenance and Ground Operations Systems Group of the Customer Services Organization. Specifically, he represented Boeing to airlines on the ETOPS (extended-range twin-engine operations) program, participated in airline maintenance evaluations, and helped airlines develop reliability programs. Since his retirement from Boeing in 2000, Dr. Kinnison has taught aviation maintenance management courses at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida. Tariq Siddiqui is employed as manager of aircraft maintenance at a commercial airline. Terry is currently teaching on an adjunct basis at ERAU. He has over 20 years of experience in aviation maintenance, management, aviation project management, environmental regulations, and investigation incidents and accidents.
