Bakuman vol 2, continues the story of Moritaka Mashiro (Saiko) and Akito Takagi (Shujin) as they are on their journey to create a number one manga. The volume introduces a sort of rival, Eiji, who is also their same age and is already on his way to getting a serialized manga. This is one great ride filled with comedy, suspense, and massive page turning action that should not be missed. I found that the characters' facial expressions were great for the main characters and their respective "girlfriends." The writing also does an excellent job at explaining concepts. Particularly, one of the most noticeable things is that of the Shonen Jump imprinted manga, this seems to be the one with the most writing (probably because of the lack of high action fighting that is seen in the other major Shonen Jump manga series here). The writing is great though and the characters develop well enough. The art is great and in scenes with actual Shonen Jump manga, it is great to see references to other series (for example in the Shonen Jump office, Naruto poster, One Piece wanted posters, etc, litter the place).
