Big Nate Boredom Buster is an activity-centered book, based on the popular character Nate Wright, from the Big Nate comic strip by Lincoln Peirce.
Peirce's protagonist, Nate Wright, is anything but a studious and well-mannered sixth grader. He is a self-ascribed class clown, troublemaker, and genius, who knows his destiny involves having BIG fun. Peirce's Big Nate books also feature some other memorable characters such as Nate's best friend and sidekick, Francis Pope. He is a friendly and intelligent chap, who along with Nate and their other friends, Teddy, Artur, and Sheila, is part of the band, Enslave The Mollusk. There are also a number of other characters such as Mrs. Hickson, the librarian, Mr. Rosa, the art teacher, and Kelly, Nate's ex-girlfriend. All of these characters play secondary roles in the Big Nate series.
Building on the theme of fun, this book contains content that encompasses Nate's favourite pastimes such as writing comics, playing games, laughing, and scribbling. Through Big Nate Boredom Buster, readers now have the chance to engage in similar hobbies as Nate. Readers of all ages can expect to find exciting opportunities to develop their own creativity, such as creating their own comics, knock-knock jokes, and pop quizzes. The list of activities continues with opportunities to scribble, doodle, draw, and even illustrate, all of which is possible in this paper-over-board activity book. Big Nate Boredom Buster, published in 2011, guarantees total relief from boredom.
