Crime & Mystery
'Can I just say that this has been the most disastrous investigation you lot have ever attempted?' begins Raymond Land, acting head of the Peculiar Crimes Unit, and he's right.
When elderly detectives Arthur Bryant and John May are asked to investigate the death of a young woman in King's Cross tube station, they discover that the London underground can be a disturbing place to visit late at night. According to the station guards, ghosts walk the abandoned stations and dead-end tunnels. The case gives Bryant an excuse to uncover the mysteries of life below the streets, but May knows they are hunting someone real and deadly.
Events take an even stranger turn when a young student goes missing at the same spot. It's an impossible crime - under the watchful eye of the security cameras, the victim boards the last train of the night, but when it arrives at the next station he has vanished into thin air.
The PCU finds itself on the trail of a clever murderer who may already have killed a member of their own staff. Catching him will require an entirely different approach - one that will send them into hopeless disarray.
As Bryant and May delve into the mysteries of the world's oldest underground system, they find themselves taking a journey into the dark reaches of a killer's mind.
All aboard the latest Bryant and May mystery, stopping at murder, mayhem and madness - with a final destination that will surprise even the detectives!
