Tourism is one of the potential segments of economy to promote both direct and indirect employment opportunities and thereby national income. It also plays a significant role in promotion of mutual understanding among people of different lands and cultures.
This book attempts to study the prospects of tourism in Andhra Pradesh, with special emphasis on Buddhist Circuits. Taking a lose look at the development of tourism in the state, it traces the history, sites and monuments of Buddhism. It also presents a detailed study of Buddhist Circuits and tourism in the state.
About the Author
Dr. Jeedigunta Krishna Kumari, M.A., M.Phil., MTM., Ph.D., is the Principal of Government Degree College, Chintalapudi, Andhra Pradesh. She has a flair for Buddhism right from her post Graduation days and did her M. Phil on "The Life of Buddha in Andhra Sculpture." She has been teaching the under-graduate and post-graduate students of history and tourism for more than two decades. Also she has been on the Board of studies in the 'Centre for Mahayana Buddhist Studies' in the Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh for the past five years. She has to her credit many articles published in several magazines, and participated in many National Seminars.
