The book tells us of the evolution of Indian education over the years in a chapter-wise format. The first chapter talks about the effect that foreign domination has had on our education scene. In the second chapter, the reader is provided with various perspectives on education from different thinkers, and the practices that are followed in different countries around the world. With the third chapter, we are given a perspective of the current education scene in the country, and gives us suggestions on how we can improve the system. It goes back to India's attitude towards education and the attempt to change the traditional view towards education in the minds of the people. It recounts the time when people from foreign countries like Greece and China would take pride in studying in an Indian institute, and how we need to bring this back.
