Geronimo Stilton: Following The Trail Of Marco Polo is part of the Geronimo Stilton series, which is a bestselling children's fiction series. This series was originally published in Italy by Edizioni Piemme, but since 2004 Scholastic Corporation started publishing the series in English.
Summary Of The Book
Geronimo Stilton is a popular children's fiction series which features the various adventures of Geronimo Stilton, who is a talking mouse. Mr. Stilton resides in New Mouse City, which is located on Mouse Island. Geronimo is an editor and journalist and is the publisher of The Rodent's Gazette, the most celebrated newsletter of New Mouse City. He is a good-natured mouse and lives with his younger sister, Thea Stilton, his cousin Trap Stilton, and Benjamin Stilton, a nine-year old nephew of Geronimo. He always tries to stay away from trouble and avoids taking risks but as fate would have it, Geronimo is always on some sort of an adventure and writes about them in his newsletter.
This time around the Pirate Cats are back on a mischievous expedition. Geronimo is on a holiday, but a relaxing vacation turns into an adventure of sorts. He has to time travel to the 13th century to Khanbalik, or "The City of Khan". He has an encounter with Kublai Khan and Marco Polo. Geronimo and his friends must stop the pirate cats from manipulating Marco Polo's famous book The Travels of Marco Polo thereby changing world history forever. Will Geronimo be able to save the day and stop the pirate cats?
This is another fun book of the series complete with humor, wit and a lot of valuable knowledge on history. The book has beautiful graphical illustrations to make it a fun read for children. This book will appeal to children aged between 8 and 12 years.
