About Dale Carnegie
An American writer and lecturer, Dale Carnegie gained immense popularity with his books that deal with improving oneself, public speaking, corporate training and improving social skills.
Carnegie has also authored books like Art of Public Speaking, Public Speaking: A Practical Course for Business Men, Lincoln, The Unknown, How to Stop Worrying and Start Living, and How to Win Friends and Influence People.
Born in Missouri, Carnegie worked as a salesperson before he began teaching public speaking at YMCA. His book, How to Win Friends and Influence People, was a bestseller since it was published in 1936. It has, so far, sold 15 million copies worldwide and has been translated into 31 languages. Carnegie's divorced his first wife in 1931, and in 1944 he married Dorothy Prince Vanderpool, from who he is now divorced as well. He died at his home in New York from Hodgkin's disease.
