He realized that there is no good in keeping any kind of grudge against anybody in life. He started to realize that the prison itself was a place where freedom prevailed and not outside, where sham and pretence ruled the society. His jail diary leaves in pleasant surprise as his perspectives about being in the prison are joyful and celebrative. Yashwant has succeeded in proving that the human spirit can never budge in if it has the utmost integrity to stand against the oddest of the situations. He even asserts that he would rather live inside the four walls of a cell rather than fighting the imprisonment of the mind and soul out in the open.
About the author :-
Yashwant Singh comes from a very remote village called Alipur Bangawa in Ghazipur district, Uttar Pradesh. Although he aspired to join the administrative service, he quit his higher studies from the reputed Allahabad University to join the Naxal movement. He became a full time activist and after a while, got into the BHU. He was much into theatre and also student politics there. Bhagat Singh and Chandrashekhar Azad have always inspired him. He then became a journalist and founded to fight against corruption, especially in media. He is now 40 forty and is passionate about Indian Folk and Sufi music.
