Mustaine presents rockstar Dave Mustaine's autobiographical account on hitting rock bottom and clawing his way back to the top, all for an absolute passion for music.
Summary Of The Book
As the frontman of the heavy metal band Megadeth and the former guitarist of Metallica, Dave Mustaine has earned the status of a legendary rockstar. An unbelievable amount of talent, a bad boy personality, and a lifetime of rock n' roll - Mustaine has enjoyed it all.
In this memoir, Mustaine, he reveals some of the highest of highs and lowest of lows that have dotted his life during his association with Megadeth and Metallica.
Mustaine was the product of a turbulent childhood, one that covered everything from impoverishment to drug abuse. In the early 1980s, he joined Metallica, a fast rising heavy metal band. Their collaboration resulted in a few musical masterpieces. But given Mustaine's constant personality clashes with the band's founders, Ulrich and Hetfield, the band's success was on shaky ground. Mustaine's alcohol and drug abuse was also a major issue.
In 1983, things went downhill for Mustaine as he found himself ousted from the band, with only a one-way ticket to LA and nowhere to go in life. How he went on to fight his way back to the top and eventually establish his own heavy metal band forms the crux of this memoir. The book highlights some of the darkest times of Mustaine's life as well as some of the most glorious. Mustaine explores his association with Metallica and Megadeth, giving fascinating insights into two of the most powerful bands in the history of thrash metal.
This edition of Mustaine was published in 2011 by HarperCollins. The book is ideal for fans of Mustaine and fans of heavy metal music in general.
