Summary of the Book
Tired of the political instability in Costaguana, Charles Gould uses the wealth he received from his silver-mining concession to support the dictator Ribiera, who he believes will provide the stability the country needs. His wealth, however, plunges the country into a new round of revolutions, bringing about chaos. Soon, an Italian expatriate, calling himself Nostromo, rises to meet one of the revolutionaries who has invaded the town he lives in.
