Sometimes known as "Hinduism", or alternately as the Vedic tradition, the religion of Sanatana Dharma is the most ancient, continuously practiced spiritual tradition on earth. The term "Sanatana Dharma" is translated from the Sanskrit language to English as the "Eternal Natural Way". It is the religion of over one-billion of the world's current inhabitants. In this very accessible and easily readable new book, Sri Dharma Pravartaka Acharya, one of the world's greatest living authorities on the tradition of Sanatana Dharma, provides us with a brief, yet extremely authoritative, introduction to this remarkable spiritual path. Acharya explains the many contributions of Sanatana Dharma to the world, including being the original source of natural medicine, meditation, martial arts, philosophy, science, and sacred arts and culture. As Acharya demonstrates in this book, Sanatana Dharma is much more than just a religion. Sanatana Dharma is a divine civilization.

Dharma Pravartaka Acharya

Sri Dharma Pravartaka Acharya is a well-recognized and highly authentic spiritual teacher and author representing the ancient tradition of Sanatana Dharma. He has been practicing Vedic spirituality for the last 45 years. He counts among his numerous admirers Dr. Deepak Chopra, Shambhavi Chopra, Dr. David Frawley, the editorial staff of Hinduism Today Magazine (which has called Acharya one of the top five authorities on Vedic spirituality in the world today), and many hundreds of other leading spiritual leaders and teachers. He lived the life of a full-time Vedic monk from 1978-1986, and was initiated as a Vedic priest in India in 1986. He has a Ph.D. in Religious Studies from the University of Wisconsin. He has so far published a dozen authoritative books on Yoga spirituality. He is one of the very few non-Indian spiritual teachers on earth to be fully accepted by both the orthodox Indian Hindu community, in addition to Western spiritual seekers, as being a fully authentic and qualified spiritual teacher (Acharya), and a self-realized sage.
