Tao-te-Ching ascribed Co Lao Tzu of ancient China is a collection of sayings of great wisdom. A senior contemporary of Confucius Lao Tzu has aptly expressed his thoughts inspiring living on a higher plane in beautiful verses of which only 81 could be preserved through the ages. His school of thought is still in existence in China and even other countries. Plain and simple living in close proximity to nature is his message contained in all of his verses. Its popularity in the world can be estimated from the fact that about .30 translations of the verses are available in English alone. The first translation of the verses was made in Sanskrit centuries ago. In the present book these verses have been paraphrased into Shakespearean sonnets on basis of four selected English translations.
