He carefully overlooks that career, and feels that he must pursue it, so as to win the approval of good men, and the approbation of his conscience. Perhaps he stands alone, amid unfriendly sur roundings, without material aid; without an eye to mark him, or a voice to whisper, God speed thee! Perhaps his genial and attractive man ners have already surrounded him with friends, solicitous for his welfare; or perhaps, he may have ample material aid; and kin, very dear, who expect him to keep lustrous a family name.
