DC Comics is pleased to offer a special new edition of the classic trade paperback collecting SUPERMAN/BATMAN #1-6 to coincide with the Fall 2009 WHV direct-to-DVD DC Universe Animated Original movie, featuring the same logo as the movie packaging.

A tale of loyalty and unlikely friendship featuring two of the most recognizable and popular super-heroes on the planet, SUPERMAN AND BATMAN: PUBLIC ENEMIES pairs the Man of Steel with the Dark Knight.

The iconic super-heroes unite when longtime Superman enemy Lex Luthor, now president of the United States, accuses Superman of a crime against humanity, and assembles a top-secret team of powerhouse heroes to bring Superman in ? dead or alive. But after the Dark Knight Detective proves Luthor's accusations to be baseless, the "World's Finest" duo prepares to topple the corrupt president's reign once and for all.

This book also includes a 2-page story by Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale as well as a cover and sketchbook section by Ed McGuinness.

Summary of the Book

When Lex Luthor becomes the President of the United States of America he quickly organizes a team of Superheroes to protect his interests. Captain Atom, Katana, Black Lightning, Power Girl, Starfire and Major Force are employed to this end, despite the fact that Power Girl isn't very comfortable with working for Luthor. The government discovers a giant Kryptonite meteor hurtling towards the planet and Luthor quickly assures people he can destroy it. Superman doesn't believe him, but he can do nothing since Luthor has accused him of attempting to murder him, and has a doctored video to prove it. Everyone believes Luthor, and an army of supervillains sets out to collect the bounty on the Man of Steel. Not everyone believes Luthor, especially not Batman, who generally trusts no one. He stands by Superman as he battles everyone from Silver Banshee to Solomon Grundy in a battle for their lives. Their fight is interrupted by Luthor's personal group of superheroes and soon, Superman and Batman will have to reckon with those who would otherwise be their own allies. Can the World's Finest Team stand up to their friends and still show everyone that Luthor is just a liar? Or will they be forced to waste their time fighting an impossible battle while the meteor strikes the planet?
