About the Book: The Addict: A Life Recovered
A remarkable story of resilience and overcoming great odds
This is the story of a girl who was afraid, a girl who was hurt, humiliated, ridiculed and rejected. She began to hate herself, to punish herself, and before she knew it, she fell prey to an addiction known as anorexia-bulimia. But this is not just the story of an addict; it is as much a story of extreme courage, of facing up to ones demons, real and imagined, a story that inspires hope. The girl in this story is neither victim, nor hero; the people who loved her are the victims that survived, those who helped her, the real-life heroes.
This harrowing yet heart-warming tale of fortitude and perseverance in the face of extreme odds cannot but move and inspire.
