Her important works include Hamara Shaha us Baras, Khali Jagah and Tirohit and they have been translated into Malayalam, English, Serbian, French and German. She has received the Indu Sharma Katha Samman, 1998, the Hindi Akademi Award for achievement in literature 2000-2001, Dwijdev Samman, 2004 and the Sahitya Akademi Award for the English translation of Mai.
