Yahya, born in 1938, is an Indian author and academician. He specializes in power generation technology and turbomachinery. He has also authored Gas Tables for Compressible Flow Calculation. Yahya spent his early life in Jaipur. He later took admission at the University of Liverpool in England to pursue his doctoral degree in Turbomachinery, which he completed in 1965. He joined the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, in 1967, and was the Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department from 1987 to 1990. He later became the Pro-Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University from 1991 to 1992. The author has also been a Visiting Fellow at the University of Cambridge and Imperial College, London. Yahya has designed and taught various courses to undergraduate and postgraduate students, and has supervised many higher degree candidates.
