Two Pronouns and a Verb: A Novel is a book written by Kiran Khalap that explores the meaning of human existence. The book explores the perpetual question through its three main characters, who have entirely different personalities and ambitions in life. Set in the city of Pune, the book paints a fine picture of a love triangle that involves the three main characters, namely Dhruv, Arjun, and Eva. The three friends, who share stark similarities to the mythological characters that they are named after, follow their destinies through separate paths that seldom meet and struggle to find answers to the important questions in life. Arjun is portrayed against the character of Arjun, from the Mahabharata. He carries his fair share of doubts and believes in finding the answers to his questions within himself. Dhruv, on the other hand, shares similarities with the character of the same name from Indian mythology, the Pole Star. An idealistic man, he takes on the powerful and the corrupt to safeguard the meek and weak. Eva is the giver of life and is torn between these two characters. She finds her purpose and cause through the course of the book. Kiran Khalap was born in 1958 in Mumbai. He is a brand consultant, author, and the founder of an organization, Chlorophyll Brand & Communications Consultancy. He started his career as a schoolteacher at J Krishnamurti Foundation. He is an eminent brand guru, and is popular among leading organizations, where he is often consulted to write and speak on the topic of branding. He has written another novel called Halfway Up the Mountain, which was first published in 2003.
