About the Author
Satish B. Mathur, Ph.D. (Business Management), C.A.I.I.B., is currently a Professor of Finance at the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow. Earlier he was with the State Bank of India (SBI) for over 27 years (1961-1988), where he had held several senior executive positions, in the areas of policy and planning, training and administration such as Senior Member of Faculty at the Bank?s Apex College at Hyderabad, Assistant General Manager and Chief Manager of Intensive Industrial Finance Branches. Later he switched over to the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), Hyderabad, as a Senior Member of Faculty in the Finance Area. During his eight years tenure at ASCI (1988-95), Dr. Mathur conducted a large number of programmes for senior and top level executives in the public and private sectors, as also for senior IAS and IPS Officers.
He has published around fifty papers in Indian and international journals of repute, (as also in the leading financial papers) some of which have been used by the UNICEF in their International Training Programmes. His book entitled The A to Z of Managerial Excellence has been very well received by the academia and the practising executives alike.
