Arvind Verma

Dr Arvind Verma was a member of the Indian Police Service (IPS) for several years and served in the Indian state of Bihar. He completed his doctorate from Simon Fraser University, Canada and at present he is an Associate Professor in the Department of Criminal Justice at Indiana University, Bloomington (USA). His research interests are in Policing; Criminal Justice Policy Issues, Research Methods, Mathematical Modeling, Fuzzy Logic and Geographical Information Systems. He served as the Managing Editor of Police Practice and Research: An International Journal for five years and was also a Consultant to the Bureau of Police Research and Development, Government of India. Currently, he is the Associate Director of India Studies at Indiana University and his books include Police Mission: Challenges and Responses [with Dilip Das] (Scarcrow Press 2003) and Organized Crime: A World Perspective [with Dilip Das and Jay Albanese] (Prentice Hall-2002).
