Artificial neural networks (ANNs) are computing systems that are motivated by the design and functioning of biological neural networks. Its design is driven by the goal of solving problems in a manner that mimics the working of the human brain. To achieve this, a system of artificial neurons is constructed, which transmits signals through connections. ANN can be programmed to deliver on the functionalities of data processing, classification, function approximation, robotics and control. Its use, however, requires an understanding of the learning algorithm, choice of model and robustness.
