The urinary tract consists of various organs such as kidneys, ureters, bladder and urethra. The infections which affect the urinary tract are known as urinary tract infections. These infections generally affect the lower urinary tract, which is composed of the bladder and the urethra. Some of the major symptoms of a urinary tract infection are a burning sensation while urinating, cloudy urine, blood in urine, strong smelling urine and passing small amounts of urine frequently. The diagnosis of urinary tract infections can be done through various methods such as examining urine samples, through cystoscopy, ultrasound or through a CT scan.
