DILIP KUMAR MAJUMDAR

DILIP KUMAR MAJUMDAR, D.Phil. (Agriculture), is formerly Professor of Agronomy and Principal (Dean), Institute of Agriculture, Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan. An M.Sc. (Agronomy) from the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi, and D.Phil. (Agriculture) from the University of Calcutta, Prof. Majumdar has four decades of teaching experience in Agronomy. He has guided a number of Ph.D. and M.Sc. students in Agronomy and Water Management. He has been Consultant in the Ministry of HRD, GoI, for formulation of a project to establish the Council of Rural Higher Education and University of Rural Education in India. He possesses seven years of experience in rural development under Government of Tripura. He also served as Member of Tripura State Planning Board. He is a Life Member of a number of scientific societies including Indian Society of Agronomy and Indian Science Congress Association. He has published 67 research papers in Agronomy of Crops and Water Management in reputed national and international journals and authored a successful university-level textbook
