We have covered all the guidelines given in the Teachers' Manual in our book. Our book is in complete sync with the evolving CBSE and syllabus framed by NCERT. The National Curriculum Framework 2005, states that Science is a dynamic ever-expanding body of knowledge and it plays a liberating role in a progressive society. It suggests that at the upper primary stage, school children should be engaged in learning the principles of science through familiar experiences. NCF-2005 envisaged an evaluation system that would grade the students on their regular activities in classrooms and enable the students to understand and focus on their learning gaps. To implement the spirit of NCF-2005, the CBSE has introduced the grading system at the upper primary level for VI-VIII. Rachna Sagar Pvt. The main aim of Activity Corner is to focus on Thinking Skills and move beyond rote learning. Such exercises will judge the abilities of students to justify reason, analyze a process and evaluate the information. It is diagnostic so that the teacher can adjust/modify his/her teaching according to the needs of individual students. (h) Discovery: It’s extra reading to know more about scientists and their discoveries. (I) After each unit Worksheet and Test are given. It is a special attraction of this edition that has especially been designed/introduced for students' Self Assessment. It is entirely based on the scholastic concept of evaluation on the textbook matter. (j) At the end of the book, two Life Skills Activities and Report books prescribed by CBSE have been given for teachers' convenience.
