People have been making soup as far back as about 20,000 BC. One can eat soup throughout the day - hot or cold. In some cultures, it is common to start the day with warm soup. It is a great way to increase your vegetable intake and you'll be full until lunch. However, in most countries, soup is served at dinnertime. A light soup makes a great starter, while a heartier soup can replace a whole meal.
For those who follow a vegan lifestyle, there are plenty of delicious, plant-based soup recipes. There are, of course, vegetable-based soups, like carrot ginger soup or broccoli soup but there are also soups with beans as the main ingredient, such as black bean soup or white bean mushroom soup. There are even soups with special ingredients like banana blossom (flower) soup or celeriac, hazelnut & truffle soup.
