The ISTQB is an Edinburgh based organisation responsible for awarding certifications to professionals that test software according to their level of expertise. There are four levels of certification where each level is more difficult and of a higher standard than its preceding level. Candidates can chose to stop after clearing the first level of basic foundation level certification or appear in consecutive tests to achieve the highest expert level certification.
