Kabir was one of the famous saints of bhakti and Sufi movement. He was born in 1398 ad. There are many folktales about Kabir’s birth and his upbringing. It is said that he was born in Varanasi and was the son of a widowed Brahmin woman, who left him near the ‘Lehertara’ pool to avoid the social stigma.
