Sethi, MD, FAAN, is an alumnus of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. He joined the Army Medical Corps (AMC) and was on active duty in the 1965 Indo-Pak war. He was awarded the Vishist Seva Medal(VSM) for displaying the highest order of valour. He completed his Residency in Neurology at the State University of New York(SUNY) at Buffalo, USA. He helped to establish Neurology Departments at Command Hospital Lucknow, Kolkata and Delhi while serving in the Army. He retired as a Colonel after 24 years of dedicated military service. Since then he has been with Sir Ganga Ram Hospital(SGRH), New Delhi. Setting up the hospital's Department of Neurology from scratch, he has helped to develop it into one of the finest clinical neurology departments in India, with a nationally accredited clinical neurophysiology laboratory. Dr. Sethi continues at SGRH as Professor Emeritus, Neurology. For his contibution in the field of Neurology, he was awarded the Padma Shri in 2002. His foundation, Brain Care Foundation of India is dedicated to dsseminating knowledge to the public about the brain, both in health and in disease.
