Tiananmen, written by Morgan Chua, describes the events that took place in Tiananmen Square in Beijing on the 4th of June 1989. The pathetic and brutal acts of the Chinese government on students incited great rage among the people and attracted attention of the people all over the world. The military advances on student demonstrators gave birth to a new generation of Chinese who continued to fight back all issues related to politics, democracy, liberalisation and censorship. The author expresses his dismay for such heinous acts on the part of the government that does not care for its own people. The author says that turning guns on its sons and daughters, who are the future for the country, is not only shameful but proves the fact that the government had not taken any lessons from history. Such acts of bloodshed and nepotism will only lead to destruction, the author adds. Tiananmen was published by Navayana in 2014 and is available in paperback
