जन्म: 1935, आज़मगढ़ (उत्तर प्रदेश)। शिक्षा: 1955 में इलाहाबाद विश्वविद्यालय से अंग्रेज़ी में एम.ए.। 1958 से 1994 तक भारतीय डाक सेवा में तथा अन्य पदों पर कार्य। उर्दू तथा अंग्रेज़ी में 40 से अधिक किताबें प्रकाशित। साहित्येतिहास तथा साहित्यिक सिद्धांत में विशेष रुचि। हिन्दी में एक उपन्यास ‘कई चाँद थे सरे आस्माँ’ तथा आलोचना-ग्रन्थ ‘उर्दू का आरम्भिक काल’ विशेष रूप से चर्चित। अनेक लेखों के अनुवाद प्रकाशित। 1966 से 2005 तक उर्दू साहित्य को आधुनिक दिशा देनेवाली पत्रिका ‘शबख़ून’ के 299 अंकों का प्रकाशन। इसके माध्यम से अन्य भारतीय भाषाओं, विशेषकर हिन्दी की रचनाओं के उर्दू अनुवादों का प्रकाशन। अनेक देशी-विदेशी विश्वविद्यालयों में व्याख्यान। साहित्य की लगभग सभी विधाओं में महत्त्वपूर्ण कार्य। 1986 में ‘साहित्य अकादमी सम्मान’ तथा 1996 में मीर तक़ी मीर के काव्य पर विस्तृत आलोचना-ग्रंथ ‘शेर शोर अंगेज़’ के लिए ‘सरस्वती सम्मान’। निधन: 25 दिसम्बर, 2020 डॉ. रिज़वानुल हक़ का जन्म 15 जून 1971 को उत्तर प्रदेश के सीतापुर ज़िले के ग्राम भीरा में हआ। उच्च शिक्षा जे.एन.यू., नई दिल्ली से प्राप्त की। आपकी प्रकाशित किताबें हैं—¬¬¬उर्दू फ़िक्शन और सिनेमा 2008 (शोध); बाज़ार में तालिब (कहानी संग्रह); आदमीनामा (नज़ीर अकबराबादी की शाइरी और ज़िन्दगी पर आधारित नाटक); इन्सान निकलते हैं (मीर तक़ी मीर की शाइरी और ज़िन्दगी पर आधारित नाटक); गुरूदेव (टैगोर के शैक्षिक विचारों पर नाटक); ख़ुदकुशीनामा (शीघ्र प्रकाश्य उपन्यास।
