The present book entitled “Biotechnology, Immunology, Biotechniques and Biostatistics” is designed to meet the demand for a text book for paper II prescribed for B.Sc. Zoology Third Year in the new Unified Syllabus for a number of State Universities in India. The book is divided in four Units provided in the syllabus for this paper. Unit I on Biotechnology consists of Chapters 1-9, Unit II on Immunology consists of Chapter 10-18, Unit III on Biotechniques consists of Chapters 19-28 and the last Unit IV on Biostatistics consists of Chapters 29-36. Efforts have been made to faithfully cover the entire contents for this paper.

The author of this book, Professor PK Gupta has 60 years of experience in teaching and conducting research in the fields of Cytogenetics, Genetics and Crop Biotechnology. He has already published >500 papers, most of these in International Journals of repute and successfully supervised ~80 PhD students, some them occupying important positions in India and abroad. Therefore, he is also known for generating meritoreous human resource. He is also known for writing at least two dozen text books in the subjects of Genetics, Biotechnology and related areas, published by Rastogi Publications, MEERUT and edited several volumes of reference books in the field of Plant Cytogenetics, publsihed by reputed publishers including Macmillan India, Elsevier (The Netherland) and Springer (Germany). His books are widely read not only in India, but also in may foreign countries. He is a fellow of all the four national academies in the field of Science and Agriculture (FNA, FASc, FNASI, FNAAS) in India and has been the recipient of many awards including the prestigious Birbal Sahni Gold Medal of the Indian Botaniocal Society.
