This book is divided into nine chapters. In chapter 1 we have discussed basic fundamental s of mathematics, chapter 2 deals with fundamentals of set theory. While chapter3 deals types of matrices, determinants, inverse of a matrix, rank of a matrix, system of linear equations along with their applications. In chapter 4 we have discussed basic concepts of differentiation, limit and continuity of function and applications of differentiations. In chapter 5 basic concept of partial differentiation, partial derivatives of higher orders , homogeneous function including Euler’s theorem, total derivatives, maxima and minima of fiction with their applications.

Dr. Mukesh Kumar

Dr. Mukesh Kumar is presently working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Graphic Era University, Dehradun, India. He received M. Phil. Degree in Mathematics from Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, India and Ph.D. Degree from HNBG Central University, Srinagar and has an experience of more than 13 years. His fields of specialization are inventory control, supply chain management and operations research. He has published 19 research papers in national and international reputed journals as well as presented many papers in national and international conferences. He has guided two Ph.D. students in the field of operations research. He is also on the editorial board of many National and International journals and reviewer of many national and international journals. He is an author/co-author six books viz. Mathematical Foundation of Computer Science, Engineering Mathematics for Semesters I and II, Engineering Mathematics for Semesters III and IV, Business Mathematics and Differential Calculus.

Dr. Anand Chauhan

Dr. Anand Chauhan is presently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics, Graphic Era University, Dehradun, India. He has done Master of Science in Mathematics from HNB Garhwal Central University, Srinagar and Ph.D (Operations Research) from C.C.S. University, Meerut. He has 10 years of teaching experience. He has published 30 research papers in national/international peer reviewed journals. His research interest includes Operational research, Optimization, Numerical Analysis. He is an author/co-author of the books viz. Business Mathematics, Mathematics-1, Calculus of variations and its applications, linear 3D Thermal Stability of a Viscous Fluid in Cubical Cavity, and Optimal Replenishment Policies for Deteriorating Items under Inflation.
