Mrs. Patil asked me to go through her above mentioned book. Out of curiosity, I agreed to do so. I am very much impressed with the way she has described each and every chapter. Actually, this topic of child nursing is very difficult to understand, but she has made it very simple. To make the understanding easier she has elaborated it with the help of diagrams. This book describes in detail the various aspects in the growth of a child, right from the care of an infant, his upbringing, his protection, the care to be taken at the hospital as well as after bringing the baby home, the diseases, their signs and symptoms, the preventive methods, the mode of treatment and special care, etc. She has also given detailed information of many welfare schemes for children. This book is the first of its type, before this I have not come across any such book, which is written especially for the babies.
