Nature & Wild Life

Early life forms began to flourish in all zoo geographic regions of the world. Mass extinctions occurred only a handful of times over the course of our planet's history. Now we are facing sixth mass extinction. Scientists have estimated that there are around 8.7 million species of plants and animals in existence. However, only around 1.2 million species have been identified and described so far. More species are becoming endangered and pushed to the brink of extinction as a result of humanity’s reckless activities, from land conversion for developmental activities and agricultural purposes to environmental pollution, over exploitation including hunting and human induced climate change resulting in Habitat destruction of animals. Presenting the the book “CITES Endangered Species on Stamps “gives the details about CITES convention, 409 images endangered species stamps of all over the world released by United Nations Postal Administration (UNPA) from 1993 to 2023, and other countries and the book also mentions the conservation efforts needed for conservation of the species. The book is a must read for all stakeholders. Bird watchers, environmentalists, foresters, Philatelists, students etc.
