Contemporary Fiction

Most of the stories in this collection depict women battling for their existence. These stories narrate the story of a woman’s modesty through a sari and indicate how a woman faces abuse and is neglected at every stage in life. If she wants to progress honourably, men at every stage are eager to exploit her. Even Courts do not offer full justice and she finds herself a lone fighter in entire struggle. The book is merely an effort to reveal the deep rooted void and a complicated and double faced mind-set of ours. It emphasises on the empower-arrangement of women and equality of status in all spheres of life. A salute to womanhood and must read for all who advocate women liberation.
