Heidi Hayes Jacobs

Heidi Hayes Jacobs, EdD, is an internationally recognized expert in curriculum development, vertical planning, modern assessment design, and 21st century strategic planning. Her model for curriculum mapping is used throughout the world. Dr. Jacobs helps educators make the transition from antiquated classroom practices to engaging innovative learning environments. She began her career as a classroom teacher at the high school, middle school, and elementary school levels in Utah, Massachusetts, and New York. Dr. Jacobs is author of numerous books, journal articles, online media, and software platforms. She has worked with public and independent schools, state departments of education, and other organizations worldwide, including the East Asia Regional Council of Overseas Schools, Tri-Association, European Council of International Schools, and the United Nation's Committee on Teaching About the UN. She has been featured in the New York Times, Educational Leadership, Child Magazine, and NASSP's High School, and on NPR's Talk of the Nation. She received the 2014 Mediterranean Association of International Schools Award for outstanding contributions to international education, 2012 Educational Innovator Award from SINET, and 1984 Par Excellence Award from the University of Utah Young Alumni Board. Dr. Jacobs completed doctoral work at Columbia University's Teachers College in New York, where she studied under a national graduate leadership fellowship from the US Department of Education. She earned a master's degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and an undergraduate degree from the University of Utah.
