When does a career journey really begin?

What is the right approach to career planning?

Why are some individuals able to rise in their career with ease while others have a tough time surviving it?

Why do some people enjoy their job while others find it a burden?

These were the questions that prompted the author to look for answers. The quest led him to meet and interact with people from various walks of life. Some of these people were very successful in their careers while the others were not, yet they all had invaluable experiences to share

Good Morning Career, is a summarized version of these experiences where the lessons learnt have been arranged into ‘easy-to-understand’ chapters. These chapters are equipped with ‘do-it-yourself’ exercises that help the reader in understanding the point being put forward.

While the book focuses on teenagers, the author recommends that it is read by the family together, to encourage and help the youngster in completing the given exercises.

Good Morning Career is a thoughtful gift for boys and girls who are getting ready to start their career journey.

Vyom Shrivastava

Vyom is a counselling enthusiast. He is a motivational speaker and his words have been working well with youngsters who are trying to find their place in the competitive world. He is a proud alumni of St. Joseph's School Nashik, City Montessori School, Lucknow and IHM Jaipur. His calling to understand the nuances that give character to all the professions of the world, directed him to enrich his resume with exposure to hospitality, teaching, public relations, advertising, marketing and counselling. He has worked for organisations such as the Ashoka Group, Taj, Holiday Inn and Amro Institutes. Besides work, he is a road safety activist and has led various road safety programmes as part of the CSR initiatives by Ashoka Buildcon Limited. These include a Guinness World Record for the Largest Road Safety Lesson, and a nationwide campaign, ‘Ashoka Buildcon Limited presents India Speaks for Road Safety Contest’. His career began humbly, as a trainee in the hotel industry. After a fair share of struggle in the corporate world, he has worked his way up the ladder and has harnessed his creativity and people-skills into a livelihood. He calls himself fortunate to have met some very successful people on one end, and some not-so-successful ones on the other. The lessons learnt from interactions with such people have equipped him with the knowledge that generally does not get taught in schools and colleges. Sharing this knowledge with youngsters is a passion that he has been building upon for the past few years. While his early counselling sessions were limited to small groups, today he delivers lectures and seminars in schools, colleges, and auditoriums. Encouraged by the response he has received; he was prompted to pen his thoughts into a series of books on career building. The series includes the titles: 1. Good Morning Career: Focussing on the teenage years when career consciousness begins to shape up. 2. Good Afternoon Career: Focussing on the early years of one’s professional life. 3.Good Evening Career: Focussing on the peak of one’s career. 4.Good Night Career: Focussing on the time when one decides to pass the baton on to the next generation by becoming the guiding light for others. Through these books, Vyom hopes to encourage people towards making their career journey a satisfying experience.Besides the above series, he is working on a reference book India – Towards Zero Road Accidents and also a work of fiction, The Man Who Tamed the Tiger.
