Val Biro

Born in Budapest in 1921, Val Biro discovered his talent and love of drawing at an early age, cheekily sketching caricatures of teachers during his early school days! After moving to London in 1939, he studied at the Central School of Arts, specialising in illustration. Throughout a distinguished career stretching over 60 years, Val Biro's work has featured in magazines, advertising and in over 400 illustrated books!

Jacob Grimm

The Brothers Grimm, Jacob (1785-1863) and Wilhelm (1786-1859), were born in Hanau, near Frankfurt, in the German state of Hesse. Throughout their lives they remained close friends, and both studied law at Marburg University.
