This book, Informatics Practices with Python for Class XI (065), has been preparedin accordance with the syllabus for the academic year 2020-21. The book focuses on teaching Python language to help students learn programming concepts and develop problem-solving skills and RDBMS operations. Unit III: Data Handling using NumPy (Chapters 7 & 8)


Data and its purpose; Importance of data; Structured and unstructured data; Data processing cycle; Basic statistical methods for understanding data mean, median, mode, standard deviation and variance. Introduction to NumPy library; NumPy arrays and their advantages; Creation of NumPy arrays; Indexing, slicing and iteration; Concatenating and splitting array; Arithmetic operations on one-Dimensional and two-Dimensional arrays.

Unit IV: Database Concepts and the SQL (Chapters 9 & 10)


Relational databases: Concept of a database, relations, attributes and tuples; Keys candidate key, primary key, alternate key, foreign key; Degree and Cardinality of a table; Use of SQL DDL/DML commands to CREATE TABLE, INSERT INTO, UPDATE TABLE, DELETE FROM, ALTER TABLE, DROP TABLE, to view content of a table: SELECT-FROM-WHERE.


Unit V: Introduction to Emerging Trends (Chapter 11)
