Language teaching and learning refers to the practice of teaching a language using various techniques along with the processes of learning a language. It is mainly concerned with the teaching and learning of a second or foreign language. It can be considered as an interdisciplinary field and a branch of applied linguistics. The discipline in linguistics that is concerned with the identification and investigation of language related problems and finds their solutions is known as applied linguistics.
