R. Venkatachalam Ph.D., graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the National Institute of Technology, Warangal. He has over 30 years of experience in teaching the subject of vibrations and has credit of nearly 70 research publications. He also has to his credit two patents for his inventions of new steering mechanisms for automobiles. He is a member of Space Society of Mechanical Engineers, ASME, SAE and the Indian Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics. He served as the Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering (2004-2005) and the Dean of Academic Affairs (2005-2009) at NIT, Warangal and the Dean of Faculty of Engineering at Kakatiya University, Warangal (2007-2011).
