The Present book is Volume 1 of the two volumes set of the book Mathematics for Class 8. It has been writtten strictly according the latest syllabus prescribed by the NCERT. In the present edition, at the end of each chapter an exercise containing large number of objective type questions have been added which will help students to test their knowledge and understanding of concepts.

Keeping mind the mental level of students, every effort has been made to introduce new concepts in a lucid manner. Basic concepts have been explained through attractive illustrations related to our day-to-day life experiences. Each chapter contains a large number of illustrative examples to understand the aaplications of concepts. In each section, illustrative examples are followed by an exercise containing an adequate number of unsolved problems. The level of the problems in exercises has been kept to encourage the students to practice, so that the students becomes more confident in solving them.
