The purpose of this book is to make available to the students, scholars and teachers of music the basic principles and concepts, processes and steps, tools and methods, alternative designs and approaches for research that have been developed in related fields and are relevant for empirical research in music. Further, the aim is to focus on special characteristics of knowledge in Indian music and the methods that are especially suited for research in the field.
