MADAN MOHAN DAS, M.S. (Cornell University, USA), Ph.D. (University of Strathclyde, UK) has been Professor, Civil Engineering Department, Assam Engineering College, Guwahati. An Emeritus Fellow of AICTE and Director of Technical Education, Government of Assam, he has more than four decades of teaching experience and three decades of research experience. Dr. Das is the author of many books including Fluid Mechanics and Turbomachines and Open Channel Flow (Both published by PHI Learning, New Delhi, 2008). He has published/presented more than half a century numbers of research papers in national and international journals and conferences. His research interest includes hydraulics, hydrodynamics and fluid mechanics. MIMI DAS SAIKIA, Ph.D. (IIT Guwahati), has been with the department of civil engineering, National Institute of Technology, Silchar. With a decade of experience in teaching and research she has published many papers in different national and international journals. Her research interest includes hydraulics and open channel flow.
