This book "Techniques in Molecular Biology and Germplasm Conservation" is written to provide up-to-date user friendly version of moleculartechniques at much cheaper price to meet the practical requirements of the students and teachers dealing with Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biosciences, Genetics, Biochemistry, Plant Pathology, and Plant Breeding subjects at both undergraduate and post graduate levels and the researches in this subject. Additionally the protocols described in this book for conservation of biological resources are of great assistance to Gene Bank Personnel and research students to maintain living organisms for short and relatively long periods.
Dr S.K. Singh
Dr S.K. Singh has more than 27 years of post doctoral research experience including two years Post Doctoral Fellow at International Crops Research Institute forthe Semi-arid Tropics (ICRISAT), Patencheru, A.P He has been a recipient of DST Young Scientist Award for significant contribution in agricultural sciences. Presently, he is leading Biotechnology Unit as a Principal Scientist at Central Arid Zone Research Institute (CAZRI), Jodhpur He has developed and implemented novel cryo- preservation and Lyophilization techniques for conservation of biological materials. Dr Singh has molecularly characterized and registered over 300 Novel gene sequences belonging to macro-fungi, fungal pathogens, PGPRs and plants varieties/germplasm (legumes, seed spices and arid fruits) with NCBI, USA to address Indian biodiversity and IPR issues. He has trained a large number of post graduate and doctoral students, teachers and scientists from Universities and ICAR institutes in molecular diagnostic and conservation techniques.
