The second edition of the experimental manual includes simulation package in the form of computer based experiments, made available to the students online. The text format of the experimental manual that provides details of each experiment and also the step-by-step approach to access the experiments, as per the order on the online platform has been expanded for each experiment in this edition. The online access serves as an adjunct to the normal practice of noting down the observations, calculations, interpretations, etc. of different experiments, as they are taught in the amphibian practical classes. The students can use the blank pages provided on the left hand side of the manual for this purpose. Thus this manual, along with accompanying online resource can serve dual purpose. Experimental physiology Manual for Computer Based Amphibian Experiments has been prepared for Phase 1 MBBS students across the country. The idea behind designing these computer based experiments was to enable the students to get a feel of doing the amphibian experiments on their own as these experiments are no longer done by students using live frogs. After thorough understanding of input parameters/values, output parameters, graphical forms of output and the static or dynamic type of recording conditions, we converted the procedures followed in live experiments to computer algorithms and designed the simulation software. The students can carry this manual to the experimental laboratory and write down the proceedings of the laboratory also on the blank page provided on the left side of each experiment. As each experimental detail has been given, this will save the time consumed in writing down the experimental details on their own.
